Overview

PICLC provides children with a comprehensive Chinese-American bilingual education, while fostering strong multicultural and global values. The Dual-Language Education model will create a playful and full immersion environment where children will discover joy in learning both Mandarin and English language. Each child is taught to value their own individuality, develop their talents, and begin their path as future world citizens.

Qualifications

  • English native speakers from USA, Canada,UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand
  • TEFL Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years experience teaching in early childhood education.
  • Managing experience in Kindergarten is required
  • Must qualify for legal Z Visa
  • Full-time (Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week)
  • Criminal record check and clean bill of health
  • Actively exhibit a passion for early education and an enthusiasm for learning!

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teaching faculty to develop and implement high-quality curriculum which complies to early childhood education requirements;
  • Monitor and assist in designing creative teaching activities that could foster positive learning;
  • Uphold PICLC’s core educational beliefs with the goal of promoting professionalism, encouraging innovation, and pursuing leadership;
  • Provide professional development opportunities for teachers; Organize regular training and workshop for teachers.
  • Interviewing qualified staff. Providing appropriate orientation.
  • Supervising staff on an on-going basis, including the development of work plans.
  • Informing staff of center requirements and policy changes through regular staff meetings.
  • Implement strategic plans to improve overall teaching quality.

School Relationships and Events

  • Lead effectively and closely with other teaching and administrative staff in meetings, projects and/or other school events
  • Host seasonal decorations of the campus, using student-made decorations and the designated Holiday Inventory for general campus decorations
  • Resolve conflicts through appropriate actions in order to maintain the positive image of school staff;
  • Providing support to staff and maintaining employee confidentiality.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Program Director will assume administrative duties including, but not limited to.
  • Perform administrative duties such as handling required paperwork, filing documents, managing emails and phone calls, and executing organizational tasks assigned by school board.
  • Check, Complete and approve English vision documents and articles; Update English vision school’s website.
  • Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines.
  • Establishing and executing policies and procedures that ensure the well being of children, such as.
  • Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum.
  • Positive Behavior Management Plans.
  • Safe arrival and departure.

Parent Relationships / Communications

  • Maintain exceptional relationships with enrolled families through verbal communication, correspondence, family events, and other kinds of positive interactions.
  • Maintaining an environment that is tolerant and respectful of child and family cultures, values and differences.
  • Develop good relationships with parents of prospect students to achieve new enrollments, especially by organizing tours and other school events.
  • Cooperate with admission staff to conduct open house and center tour.
  • Be responsible for updating PICLC website content.
  • Host annual Parent-Teacher Interviews and bi-annual Parent Coffees, as scheduled by the Executive Director.
  • Issue monthly Newsletter on the first day of every month; Supervise foreigner teacher’s weekly report.
  • Remain professional and approachable for any parent concerns and/or feedback.
  • Provide families with information and assistance with community resources.
