On May 5th, after the Dragon Boat Festival, five grains of rice are wrapped in bamboo leaf to make delicious dumplings.The traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival have been handed down for thousands of years, Dragon boat racing, gongs and drums make the day fun!
转眼间，一年一度的端午节又即将来临了。为了让孩子们更好地体会端午节的意义，在端午节日到来之前，PICLC的小朋友们一起在学校举办了端午节活动。我们开展了“粽叶传情，粽子飘香”的包粽子活动。
In a flash, the annual Dragon Boat Festival is coming. To help children understand the meaning and history of the Dragon Boat Festival,the children of PICLC held a dragon boat festival activity together in the school. We carried out the activities of “rice dumplings leaf spread, rice dumplings fragrance” to help children experience the famous of food of the festival.
Pre-school的孩子们在幼儿园里过端午还是第一次，对端午节并不了解，观看了端午节的由来和端午节的习俗之后，对端午节有了些浅显的认识。
The children of the small class spent the Dragon Boat Festival for the first time in the kindergarten. They didn’t know about the Dragon Boat Festival. After watching the origin of the festival and the customs of the festival, they had a simple understanding of the festival.
孩子们围坐在一起，看一看，学一学粽子是怎么包出来的，了解了粽子的包法是多种多样的，粽子的形状也有所不同。
The school teachers to show the children how to make rice dumplings. The children sat around to see how to make rice dumplings to celebrate the special occasion. There are many kinds of rice dumplings, and their shapes are flavors are all very different.
Pre-K的小朋友们的好奇心，让他们你一言我一语地问着老师们各种问题。孩子们也试着做了做，学了学，也在这其中感受到了包粽子的乐趣。
The curiosity of the children in the Pre-K class makes them ask the teachers all kinds of questions. Children also try to do, learn and feel the joy of making rice dumplings.
Kindergarten的小朋友们更是厉害啦！不仅仅能帮老师包粽子，还能配合老师们捆绑粽子。
The kindergarten class children learnt so much! They helped the teacher make dumplings and know how to do it themselves.
终于到下午品尝粽子的时刻啦！小朋友吃自己包的粽子真香啊！这是咸肉粽还是甜粽子？
Finally, it’s time to taste rice dumplings in the afternoon! It’s delicious for children to eat their own dumplings! Is this salted or sweet rice dumpling?
放学的时候每个小朋友还带了粽子回家，请爸爸妈妈品尝呢！
When school is over, every child brings rice dumplings home. Please have a taste for daddy and mummy!
此次端午节活动，小朋友们在感知端午、走进端午、品味端午的过程中，体会着传统节日的快乐与童趣。整个活动中，通过这些孩子们喜闻乐见，妙趣横生的活动，让孩子们提前度过了一个轻松、愉快而又收获颇丰的端午节。
Children are having fun learning about the traditional Dragon Boat Festival and it’s history, through exciting activities. The children enjoyed the activities and the excitement helped them learn so much about the holiday. The children had a fun and relaxing day ready to have a happy festival weekend at home with family.
