This year is the 71st anniversary of the National Day of China.
今年的国庆很不一般，因为2020年10月1日不仅是我们伟大祖国71周年华诞，也是我们中国的传统节日：中秋节。普林斯顿国际幼儿园（PICLC）的师生们在即将来临的双节之际，通过自己的方式，为我们的伟大祖国母亲送上最真挚的祝福，祝福我们的祖国繁荣昌盛！人民团圆美满！
This year’s National Day is a very special one, because October 1, 2020 is not only the 71st anniversary of China, but also the traditional Chinese festival: Mid-Autumn Festival. The teachers and students of Princeton Kindergarten send their warmest wishes to family and friends for the upcoming double festival, and wish the best to China! Happy National Day!

Mid-Autumn Festival
中秋节，又称祭月节、月光诞、月夕、秋节、仲秋节、拜月节、月娘节、月亮节、团圆节等，是中国民间的传统节日。中秋节起源于上古时代，普及于汉代，定型于唐朝初年，盛行于宋朝以后，明清时已成为与春节齐名的主要节日之一。
Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a traditional Chinese folk festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival was originated in ancient times and it was popular after the Han Dynasty.
中秋节以月之圆兆人之团圆，为寄托思念故乡，思念亲人之情，祈盼丰收、幸福，成为丰富多彩、弥足珍贵的文化遗产。中秋节自古便有祭月、赏月、吃月饼、玩花灯、赏桂花、饮桂花酒等民俗，流传至今，经久不息。
The Mid-Autumn Festival uses the full moon to signify the reunion of people. It is a rich and precious cultural heritage for yearning for the hometown, the love of loved ones, and praying for a harvest and happiness. Since ancient times, the Mid-Autumn Festival has had folk customs such as worshipping the moon, admiring the moon, eating moon cakes, playing lanterns, admiring osmanthus, and drinking osmanthus wine.
在这个桂花飘香的金色的秋天，PICLC在9月30日早上也举行了庆祝中秋的活动。全园的师生们身穿传统服装，园里也装扮一新，到处都能感受到中秋的氛围。
As the sweet scented osmanthus bloomed this autumn, Princeton Kindergarten held activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Our formal celebrations began on September 30th in a beautifully decorated park, where the teachers and students were dressed in traditional costumes.
中秋到，月饼香，歌儿甜，舞翩翩，PICLC演出多好看。快看呀，中秋演出开始啦，首先主持人为我们介绍了中秋的来历，关于月亮的传说故事，例如：《嫦娥奔月》《天狗吃月》《中秋节的由来》等。
The Mid-Autumn Festival is here, the moon cakes are fragrant, the songs are sweet, the dancing is graceful, and the performance was attractive. Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations have begun. We just heard about the origin of and stories about the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Chinese teachers have performed several songs which are gentle and nice, adding a touch of sweetness to the festival.

Everyone hung the family portrait on the wishing tree and the big moon, reflecting that the Mid-Autumn Festival is a reunion and blessing day.
中秋主题桌上，全部是传统的中秋美食，又月饼、柚子、柿子、石榴、西瓜、芋头、板栗、菱角、桂花饼、糯米莲藕、桂花茶等，香飘四方。
The Mid-Autumn theme table is full of traditional Mid-Autumn delicacies, mooncakes, grapefruit, persimmon, pomegranate, watermelon, taro, chestnut, water chestnut, osmanthus cake, glutinous rice lotus root, osmanthus tea, and more.
这些都是我们和爸爸妈妈亲手制作的环保手工灯笼哦，哪一个是你心中的最佳创意灯笼呢？为他/她投上一票吧。
These are environmentally friendly handmade lanterns made by our students and parents. You can vote for the most creative one in your opinion.

中秋节一个重头戏就是吃月饼，这可不能忘呀。今天园里为大家准备了原材料，孩子们即将自己亲手制作香甜的冰皮月饼，他们今天最期待的事情可能就是这个啦。
One of the traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival is eating moon cakes which can’t be ignored. Today, the kindergarten prepared raw materials for everyone. The children made sweet mooncakes by themselves. They were definitely excited about this the most.
宝贝们在老师们的帮助下，将甜甜的红豆馅儿包进又软又冰凉的冰皮中，接着用各式各样的模具把一个个圆溜溜的月饼压成各种样子，孩子们可有成就感了，今天我们亲手做了冰皮月饼哦，不仅体验了自己动手的喜悦，也体会到了月饼大部分是圆形代表了团团圆圆的含义。
With the help of the teachers, the young ones wrapped the sweet red bean filling into the soft crust, and then used molds to press the round moon cakes into various shapes. The children felt proud and had a sense of accomplishment as they made moon cakes by themselves. They also learned that most of the moon cakes are round, to represent reunion.
鹦鹉班的宝贝们还有特别的中秋活动哦，我们为中秋主题的环保袋涂上了自己喜欢的颜色，我们会把自己的小袋子拿回家好好环保利用。环保中秋的主题也很不错嘛。
The kids of the parrot class had special Mid-Autumn Festival activity. They painted the Mid-Autumn-themed eco-bags with their favorite colors, and took the bags home. The children learned the importance of being environmentally friendly during the holiday season.

Today was a fun filled, rewarding day, as the children sang sweet songs, made moon cakes to celebrate the moon, and participated in Mid-Autumn themed activities.
月儿将圆未圆，月华如水如烟；红旗漫天舒卷，国庆近在眼前；预祝大家中秋国庆，阖家幸福团圆！
